This collection is of my "Visual Poems". Click the image for a larger view.
I made these using people's memories: my own and other people's. Most were done by interviewing other people about their memories of important places or objects. From what they remembered, I made connections with my own photographic archive, selecting pictures I could associate with their stories. Once I had the collection, I created a single multi-layered image which - for me - represents my memory of what they said. They each have a title that acts as a prompt to my recalling their story. I have taken commissions to create images like these, so contact me if you would like to discuss this. Each of these images is a digital composition, photo printed onto archive C-Type paper. They are available, to order, at three sizes: 40in x 40in 30in x 30in 15in x 15in They are mounted on aluminium (or MDF for the smaller sizes). I have recently printed and mounted up to 50in x 50in.
